TROJAN HORSE-“THE VIRUS KING”

“TROJAN HORSE” i know the first thing that strikes your mind , its a VIRUS ……and  no points for guessing you are right and it is the most commonly found virus in your computer system if it is not well protected.

Whenever i hear about computer virus few questions pops out in my mind and i guess some of those bother you also, let me tell you few facts about virus which i have collected and i am sure it will help to understand and tackle viruses in a better way.

Ques 1.   What is a virus?

Ans   1:   VIRUS stands for “VITAL INFORMATION & RESOURCES UNDER SEIDGE”. Virus is a coded program with a single motive to hamper the running of software’s installed in your computer. It act as a parasite and it piggyback on a computer program and when we run the program the virus runs too automatically and starts reproducing itself and the common indicators which tells you that your computer is infected are:-

a)      It slows down the functioning of program.

b)      It hangs the program.

c)      You can’t access the disk drives

d)      Virus pop outs with every click

e)      Every time you try to run antivirus  your computer shut downs

f)       Some of installed programs uninstalled without users knowledge

There are lots of signs i wrote only few hope it will help you to recognise virus.

Ques 2 : When was first time virus seen?

Ans   2 :  Sometimes in mid eighties when IBM & Macintosh introduced PC and it was an instant success and it reached to homes colleges businesses and everybody who can afford it. In eighties peoples could dial up bulletin board system (BBS) Its an online service used for download and upload of data and it is done with  a help of a modem. BBS leads to the first Virus ever know “Trojan Horse” People downloaded Trojan program thinking it might be some game going by its name but it got attached itself with programs in PC and started duplicating itself, erases the data and hangs computers system, it created a havoc that time and amazingly it is still here and still ruining of computer system.

Ans   3 :The common types of viruses are:-

a)      Boot Sector Virus

b)      Application Virus

c)      Source Code Virus

d)      Batch files virus

The common ways by which computer viruses attacks are:-

a)      From mass storage devices

b)      Via Malicious E mails

c)      Via Internet

d)      From Network

e)      Downloading of files from unknown sources
